Sunny Paris visit

I just got back from a four days trip to Paris with äiti and appa. It was all around a very enjoyable trip. Tuuli-Maaria and Erkki setä hosted us! I saw Eiffel Tower from Tuuli-Maaria's balcony every morning and evening. The weather was very warm; + 25 degrees (on average).

We went to Disneyland Europe, Notre Dame, Louvre museum, Latin Quarter, Pantheon, The Sorbonne ( from outside), Jardin de Luxemburg and of course saw Arc de Triomphe, Eiffel Tower, Champs Elyses any many more Parisian sites.

We also took a boat trip along Seine river. And local train and buses. This way we saw more of Paris.

I had good baguettes (with ham) and fresh croissants. And, not to mention hot dogs! Tuuli-Maaria made me some good meatballs and sausages. We did celebrate Appa's Master's degree with Erkki setä and Tuuli-Maaria with great dinner prepared by Tuuli-Maaria!

Shrove Sunday

After a long dark and snowless winter, today, a perfect sunny day, we celebrated Shrove Sunday at Taivaskallio, Käpylä, with my cousins. Lilli and I were trying our very first "Lion Hunting" shooting game. Can't really say we got any, but it was an experience.

I also got a balloon, of course, couldn't leave without one. This year, I went with "girls" theme :)

The ride on the fire truck was also an excitement...

We also had a cosy lunch at grandparent's place, and continued playing with Lilli, Pekko, Iiro and Hemuli.

Looking forward to some snow still...

New year, new beginning

A lot has changed since I last wrote. We moved to our new home in Tapiola last Sept. (2007). I have changed day care, and gotten used to living in an apartment. The change was big, and it took time to adjust to, but I did it!

There is a library, movie theater, swimming pool and shopping center all in walking distance. Here is a picture of me at Tapiola library yesterday :) Aladdin is a great story!

Been a while...

Its been a good while since Arun last gave some news. Its not at all intentional. Arun's äiti had some tech snags with e-blogger. Arun hopes the tech issues are resolved and Arun can continue to update you all on Arun's "toddler" experiences.

New year's celebration went well. Arun was with Pekko and Iiro, watching the fireworks. Arun, Pekko and Iiro were all a bit tired towards the end. It was a long night, but luckily the next day was Sunday!

Other than that, been drawing and playing and speaking Finnish.

January 24th we celebrated Joel's birthday. That was good fun. Arun and Äiti were at Joel's new home. Arun played and played with Ronia and Joel. Joel turned four!

February 14th was Aiti's birthday! Arun wished Äiti "Hyvää Syntymäpäivää" first thing in the morning. Arun was so excited, Arun wished Äiti "Hyvää Syntymäpäivää" at least four times during the same hour.

Today Arun was sledging with Isä (mostly) and Äiti. Äiti was not all too comfortable to go on the "stiga,"yet. It was magnificent!! We were going mighty fast. After which, Arun went to spend time with Iso, Mummi, Lilli, Iiro, Pekko, Henrikki, and their parents...

Can't wait to go on the "stiga" again! Its going to be pretty cold winter week next week, and Arun is going to spend a couple of days with Iso and Mummi, maybe Mummi will take Arun sledging!

Arun attended the first wedding (Vesa's and Sirpa's)

Arun never been to a wedding before. The whole concept is foreign, but, one that Arun was eager to attend. The challenge for the äiti and appa is to keep Arun entertained in the church, during the formal wedding ceremony.

The reception was on the Silja Line cruise ship, which was an experience on its own -"ISO LAIVA," said Arun

Since Arun's participation to this wedding was excellent, Appa and Äitti are taking Arun to Barcelona for Antti's and Grisela's wedding...That will be fun, Arun will be flying for the 1st time - life full of discoveries..

Summer holidays

Summer has been great this year...incredibly sunny and only 6mm of rain in Helsinki this year. Arun of course enjoyed it completely, but, äiti was a bit stressed about äiti's plants drying up, and so she diligently watered äiti's plants every day when we were at home. Of course most of Arun's summer holidays was spent at Arun's grandparents' cottage, in Urjala. Arun saw Iso and Mummi kayaking and cycling. Arun also got introduced to Pentti's machineries. They are awesome! Check out the orange van! And tractors!!!


The big day of the summer is, of course, Arun's birthday. This year Arun turned 2!! Ronia, Joel, Pekko, Iiro and Lilli were all there! Mummi made some delicious food and the cake and pulla was simply excellent. Thanks to Amayee, Periyamaa, Periyappa, Chiti, Hanna, Pekka, Erkki Kumisetä, Tuuli-Marja, Sari, Iso and Mummi for joining appa and äiti at the cottage to celebrate my 2 birthday!



Arun got to know Arun's cousins better this summer. Most importantly we all improved on social skills. For example, we learned to play together and share toys...

Sauna at the cottage is a joyful experience for Arun. Arun really loves being in the sauna and playing in the water. Swimming didn't quite work out this summer, yet...maybe next summer...



Appa also took us on a rowing boat. Mommy tried rowing, but she had some trouble keeping the boat moving forward...we were zigzagging quite a bit, but not to worry appa took over after having patiently watched mommy rowing... :)

Mummi took Arun to see some horses at Hessu talli. And, Iso and appa took Arun cycling to see Honkolan possut...röh...röh, said the possut

Appa also got a new toy this summer. Appa got a "koda" i.e skoda. Its a neat car, esp. when it comes to the key. Arun is so into keys, like a magnet, that Arun's parents have a hard time separating Arun from any keys that Arun gets a handle on ...:)

Oh, and appa also got Arun a sandbox, so, been spending time in it...Arun has a few toys outside and not to forget Arun also learned about summer insectes: kosue, eee, papati...

We got back to Espoo a bit over week ago as appa had to go to work. And today äiti also went back to work. Arun also went to daycare after a long summer break, and Arun thinks we both missed each other greatly...but, the good part is Arun's buddies, Aatu,Santeri and Alexander, are back as well. So, we have good fun outside as the weather is still warm :)

Arun and Cars - "Iso Auto"

Arun doesn't know about others, but Arun is absolutely mad about cars. These machineries come in different shapes, sizes, colors - and even has different sounds. Arun recently saw "paloauto" (fire truck), "foma-auto" (formula racing car) , "ambulanssi", "rokka-auto" (carbage truck)...

And, of course, Arun needs "saavi" (key) to operate them; to open the doors, start etc..

Last weekend, Arun was in Appa's car for a good half-and-hour, test driving Appa's car. We didn't go anywhere, but it was quite an experience; to feel the steering wheel and press all sorts of button...

Can't wait to get a driver's license...and a cool car, of course...

Mother's Day

The day started with dad and I making a fabulous breakfast for mommy. I made mommy a card as well. Then we visited Ammayee in Sepänkylä.

The afternoon was spent at grandparents' place in Käpylä. Lilli, Pekko, Iiro were all there! We had so much fun to run around and play together without any restrictions..

On our way home, we stopped by Sepänkylä to catch-up with Ronia and Joel...I had such jolie time running and playing with Ronia and Joel.

It was a long but fun day! Mommy and both grandmothers were happy :)
